Festivals & Events

Whether you have a passion for history and culture, food and drink, or art and music, East Cambs packs a punch when it comes to dynamic and friendly festivals and events.

As you might expect in a rural district, there are many festivals linked to food and farming celebrating the heritage of East Cambs such as food safaris, beer festivals and local artisan street food pop-ups.

In addition to their regular weekly markets, Ely Markets runs Ely Farmers’ Market on the 2nd and 4th Saturday every month, plus special seasonal events. Check out their events page for more information here.

East Cambs is also home to an annual arts festival celebrating arts and culture throughout East Cambs, and a quirky carnival-inspired parade celebrating the humble eel!

But it doesn’t stop there.

The area hosts an annual steam rally, the World Pea Shooting Championships, East Anglia’s puddle jumping championships, a charity potato race, and numerous village fetes, as well as seasonal events such as firework displays, Christmas food and gift fairs and much, much more.

If you want to plan your visit around a specific event, why not make a holiday out of it and book a few nights at one of our wonderful places to stay? And be sure to check out the range of hidden gems to eat and drink while you're here.
